30 kWh Growatt battery in Amsterdam

In Amsterdam, we got to work with a music enthusiast who has long been at the forefront of energy. Twelve years ago he installed one of the first home batteries in the Netherlands, at a time when it was still a real exception. That pioneer battery has served faithfully, but after twelve years it was time for an upgrade.

The replacement is a Growatt home battery of 30 kWh, quite a leap from the old installation. And it's needed too: there are two electric cars in the driveway and 5.4 kW of solar panels on the roof. The battery ensures that the solar energy generated does not simply disappear into the grid, but is collected and later used for charging the cars and household consumption. In summer, the battery is recharged daily with its own energy. In periods with less sun, the system automatically charges at the cheapest times of the day, saving on energy bills throughout the year.

For someone who had a home battery back in 2012, this project is a logical next step. From pioneer to a fully mature installation that matches how the household drives and consumes today.
