Project Description

Smart solar energy system in The Hague: ready for the future
In The Hague, we recently realized an advanced energy system that responds perfectly to the changes in the energy market. The system consists of 12 full-black solar panels combined with a Sigenergy home battery of 8 kWh, including a charging point for the electric car. This provides the basis for maximum self-consumption and flexibility in energy use.

Prepared for the end of net-metering
With the gradual phasing out of the net-metering system, it is becoming increasingly important to make smart use of generated solar power. This system is fully prepared for this. The home battery makes it possible to store solar energy for use in the evening and at night, greatly reducing dependence on the grid. In this way, the customer utilizes a greater proportion of their own generated energy and the yield remains optimal, even if feed-in becomes less attractive.

Dynamic energy management & EPEX market
An important aspect of this project is the link to a future dynamic energy contract. This allows the customer to actively take advantage of fluctuations in the EPEX energy market. By smartly charging and discharging the battery at times when the power price is favorable, significant savings can be made.

Smart charging station & interoperability
A smart charging station has been added to the system right away. The design choices took into account interoperability between the solar panels, battery, charging station and energy management system. This ensures a seamless integration where the car's charging is optimally tuned to solar power, battery status and power prices.

The Sigenergy DC charger sits directly on the battery, allowing charging directly from the battery without additional conversion. It also supports V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), opening up unlimited possibilities for modern life.
